Organic Cotton

We are proud to offer you a tagless line of 100% organic cotton apparel made from cotton grown on a certified organic family farm in the USA...where they first farmed cotton over 100 years ago. This organic cotton is planted and harvested without the use of pesticides or other chemicals that can harm the earth.  After harvest, the organic cotton is ginned in a certified gin, and spun in a certified mill.  The yarn is then knitted, finished, and sewn…all in the United States ...all in sweat shop free environments, all by American workers.

WHY GO GREEN WITH ORGANIC COTTON?

Certified organic farms follow the US Organic Standards that requires cotton to be grown in soil that has been chemical free for a period of three years.

This allows the soil to become nuturient rich without the need for chemical additives.  As the organic content of the soil increases the soil's ability to sustain water becomes greater.  What results is a stronger cotton plant.

Organic fields have less water run off, and the water that does is not polluted with pesticides or synthetic fertilizers...creating a healthier planet!

WHY DOES ORGANIC COTTON APPAREL HAVE ADDED VALUE?

The organic cotton used to make our tagless apparel is processed separately from conventional cotton on machines that are cleaned to avoid contamination. The cotton gin separates the cotton fibers from the seed in a process called ginning.  The seeds are then used for animal feed or pressed into oil.

This organic cotton is then milled in a certified cotton mill where it is cleaned and the raw fibers are twisted together binding them into a longer,  stronger yarn on machineray that must remain uncontaminated.

Two sets of organic cotton yarn are then placed on a loom and woven into cloth on machines used only for organic cotton.

The organic cotton yarn is then cut, assembled and sewn into the high value apparel you can expect when you make the responsible choice to go green!
